SUMMER IGLOO DESIGNS: AUGUST FURNITURE CATALOG

From a 0% Sale to the Buy 1 Get 1 Full Price Deal, it is Quite the Steal! Literally...

With the Summer Luau right around the corner, penguins around the island are getting ready to soak in that summer fun. One of the favorite pastimes for many is decorating their igloos according to the themes of the upcoming parties, and now is no different. The excitement about refurbishing is especially palpable, with a new catalog just having come out. To help you with your own remodeling, we sat down with one of the best-known igloo experts on CPR, Babycrier, and asked him to share with us some cool igloo decorating tips and ideas that would fit for this party!

During the summer, many penguins go on vacation, with cruises being an especially popular choice. But for those of us who spent all our coins on new outfits (oops), travel might not be a feasible option. Thankfully, Babycrier comes to the rescue! Just build your own cruise ship in your igloo! He showed us a great example of this with his own igloo. Using items from both the old and new catalogs, he managed to perfectly recreate a relaxing summer cruise for all to enjoy.

Pro tip: Using the sand castle furniture items, you can make your own sand home! The sand walls and archways along with the wooden floor can give the sand castle that perfect shore feeling. Just beware of the waves!

If cruise ships are not so much your thing, but you still want to enjoy the summer vibe, try the beach! If the Cove gets too crowded for your liking, you can always go for a smaller, more private beach hangout. Make your own beach where you and your penguin pals can hang out and celebrate! A kind, active member of the community, SuperIvy4, shared her interpretation of what a beach igloo would look like. We can see here how the terracotta flooring also works for a sandy beach, and the blue rugs along with the cool ice fishing holes are great for an ocean! If you're recreating a beach just like this, be sure to throw in some waves and some inflatable toys like Ivy did! This igloo is great for taking inspiration on how to utilize the new items from the August catalog.

But don't limit yourself to the new catalog. Ivy let her creativity shine and used not just the newest items, but went way back to the Medieval times and got some ancient windows, which arranged created a kind of waterfall illusion. She even payed a visit to the pet shop and picked up some bird houses, which added to the igloo's outdoors aesthetic. Everything is natural and that's a big part of what summer is about - relaxing, connecting with nature, being peaceful and having a great time in general!

Whatever igloo you decide to create, we hope you take some inspiration from these! Remember to think outside the box if you want to make an impressive igloo, and at the end of the day, make sure to have a fun time! We can't wait to see what you penguins come up with!

THE ORIGIN OF CPMV'S

A Deep Dive into the Past - Featuring Special Guest, Jempenguin!

Jem began her Club Penguin Music Video career in the early 2000’s, only four years after Club Penguin initially opened. As described by her, the simple request of taking a look at a friend’s channel opened a new world for her and her creativity to blossom. That would inspire her to explore the different aspects of that generation of Youtube, and she’d find herself coming to the realization that being part of that world and creating content within it was exactly what she wanted to pursue. And with that, her now classic videos, such as “Call me Maybe” and “I’m not Crazy,” reached over 50k views, and still capture an audience 7 years later. Shaking up the island with her fantastic music choices and vibrant graphics, it is now safe to say that she was the peak of CPMVs in the early days.

We were lucky enough to get a couple of moments of Jem’s time to learn more about her story. Her introduction to the Club Penguin game itself dated back in 2008, she told us. “I remember walking into Toys R Us back in October of 2008 and seeing these stuffed penguins that said ‘Disney’s Club Penguin’ on the tag. --- I chose the Frankenpenguin plush.” With that, she went onto the site and created the name we know so well, Jempenguin. She explained, “My favorite cartoon was (and probably still is) Jem and the Holograms, so it seemed fitting to name the penguin Jempenguin.” Although Jem’s channel has now accumulated a total of 10k subscribers, the beginning wasn’t all that easy. “My channel didn’t really get popular until sometime in 2010, after Wicked Awesomeness Productions (W.A.P) was formed. It definitely made a positive impact on me nonetheless.” For those unaware, Wicked Awesomeness Pro was a collaborative CPMV-making channel with a total of 4k views and 738 subscribers, featuring old creators such as Wolf Rains, Daniella4447, Firemask1, and many more. With the success of her individual career and of the collaborative channel, a lot of attention came along with it. Jem got recognized in-game more and more often, with penguins rushing to meet her and talk to her. She said, “I became a ‘famous penguin’ and as an introvert, it was hard at times, to always have people wanting to hang out with me, interview me, make videos with me etc... the community was just very welcoming to me from the start.” Through the stress and the pressure of all eyes on her, she was able to find the positive side of it all, “Even though I was pretty quiet, didn't have many ‘parties’ like other ‘famous penguins’, I always felt appreciated. It felt good to be valued. I got to do something I loved and that others enjoyed and looked forward to.”

To this day, Jempenguin is still going strong, producing more impressive and entertaining content across different CPPSs. Recently, she joined our own Club Penguin Rewritten community and is enjoying creating and sharing her content there.

HOT AIR, COOL SNACKS, RUBBER DUCKS, AND MORE!

Everything we Love About Summer in This Year's Summer Luau

This summer, Club Penguin Rewritten will be giving us our very own Summer Luau Party back! It’s one we’ve all been waiting for in these hot summer days. In order to fill the time until the party kicks off and keep you excited about it, we’ve decided to have a look back on last year’s Summer Luau and try to predict what we might see once it rolls out this year.

A little blast from the past, the Summer Luau was considered a mystery party back in 2018. It started on August 23rd and went until the 28th, making now the perfect time for a comeback.

For Penguins waddling around the island, itching to know what fun wear they can show off this summer, we have a few predictions on what we might see return with the party. Some fun free items given away last year were the Green Sunglasses, which at the time you could find in the Forest, and the Green Duck, which you could find at the Cove. So, items you might find this year could include an inflatable rubber duck, a lei, a new pair of glasses, and perhaps even some fun new additions! We expect that these might make a return but possibly in a different color, as has usually been the case with repeating parties.

We also wanted to hear what you were expecting to see in this party. We got a chance to interview CPR community member Randomboy481 and ask him if he had any predictions as to what might be going on for this year’s Summer Party. He told us, “I predict the main areas will be the Town, Plaza, and Cove”. This seems like a sound prediction, considering the Town and Plaza are usually central for any party, and the Cove would be the perfect place to focus summer-themed celebrations.

Randomboy481 added, “I also predict that a new colored or an old duck color will return for the party.” It seems our predictions are in line! In previous times CPR has released an inflatable duck item for summer parties, so this would be an opportunity for it to return, and we certainly hope that will be the case.

We can’t wait to see what old or new items make an appearance in this year’s party! Whatever they may be, the community will have a blast with The Summer Luau!

THE HOTTEST MONTH OF THE YEAR IS HERE

How to Beat the Heat in These Beach Ready Outfits

Since the summer party is coming up, today we'll be looking at some of our summer-themed outfits that can help to make the recent heatwave bearable on the island!

The first outfit we're looking at is a gold theme for those natural blondes on our island! If you want a look that captures the sun's reflection, then this is for you. We have to give massive credit for those lovely flowers on the bathing suit, it's the cherry on top in shaping it all in place!

The second is for those penguins who are looking to have a nice meal with your friends on a picnic! It's necessary for swimwear, but also for hanging with friends on the beach and having fun. You wouldn't have to worry about your clothes getting messy or dirty!

Lastly, this is for all our surfers on the island. If you're trying to catch some waves by surfing, this outfit is perfect for all the guys in our penguin family. The sunglasses are perfect to block out the sun, especially when you're doing tricks with that handy surfboard while catching those waves!

PENGUINS GUIDE TO RELAXATIONS AND ADVENTURE

Calming Waves to Catching Waves...There is Something for Everyone to Enjoy!

As summer slowly comes to a close, we see our fellow penguins prepare for the season’s last hurrah, the Summer Luau party, and engage in all their favorite hot weather activities while they still can. Whether they were partying at the Dance Club or swimming with the rubber duckies at the Cove, everyone was definitely relaxing and enjoying themselves. It’s the calm before the storm of school being in session once again. To help you make the most of this precious time, we’ve compiled a list of summertime activity highlights from this week, which we would recommend to everyone!

Dragons at the Spring:

Uh oh! A bunch of dragons stormed Serene Springs. I wonder what these ferocious beasts were doing here? They seem to be friendly for the most part, but I’m not sure the gray puffles appreciated their visit...

Tip: Take this time to let loose, be silly and have fun with your friends! Dressing up and playing around the island is a great way to relax!

Binocular... Gang?:

While in the town, some fellow penguins noticed an odd gang forming near the Coffee Shop. They all seemed to be searching for something in the distance with identical pairs of binoculars. Perhaps they can see something we don’t?

Tip: Gangs are in now! Try to gather up as many penguins as you can in a room, all dressed in identical outfits or doing the same dance. Can you form a line across the Town?

Swimming Lessons:

A group of penguins were spotted learning how to swim at the Cove a few days ago. The instructor had given everyone a blue duckie from the Penguin Style to help keep them afloat. Together they plan on creating the fiercest swim team Club Penguin Rewritten has ever seen!

Tip: Exercise is key to a healthy penguin life! Whether you like to do it in a team or practice solo, take the opportunity to get healthy and have fun doing it!

Dance Party!:

Sorry dude, you’re not on the list. Just kidding! A group of penguins held a HUGE dance party at the Dance Club this week. They were helping one another earn the color stamps. It was one of sickest events of the summer and we hope to see more like it before we all go back to hitting the books.

Tip: Dancing always guarantees a good time, plus you and your friends can catch up on all those stamps you missed! Advertise in Town and try to fill the entire Dance Club, then change colors together and the room will follow.

Take care, penguins!
